In this blog, we are going to see about weeds, their types and its impact and also we can see about weeding technique.


Weeds:

Weeds are unwanted plants that grow in field or lawn which sucks all most of the nutrients and water needed for native plant growth resulting in poor growth of native plants or poor quality. They compete with main crops for water, nutrients, sunlight and even space.

Worst Garden weeds:

  • Grab grass

  • Dandelion

  • Bermuda grass

  • Bindweed

  • Chickweed

  • Ground ivy

  • Canada thistle

  • Burdock

  • Quack grass

Impacts of Weed

  • They may not be affected by the pests or diseases that affects control the main plants.

  • They grow faster than main plants and compete for available nutrients, water, space and sunlight

  • Weeds are often excellent at surviving and reproducing in disturbed environments.

  • Weeds reduce farm productivity, they invade crops.

  • They aggressively compete for water and nutrients, resulting in reduced crop yield and poor crop quality.

  • Weeds can also cause human health problems.

  • Some weeds can also cause skin irritation and some are poisonous.

Weeding:


The two common methods of weeding is by pulling the weeds or by spraying.
