how to conserve WATER while gardening | ksplanting

In this blog, I have mentioned some ideas to save the water while gardening. If you have more no. of. Plants in your garden, then you require large amount of water. Use the below given tips to save some water. These are the techniques which I use to save water.

Tip 1:

Use Drip Irrigation system. It avoids the over the over usage of water. By using this, plant will get water in correct time and most of the water is saved.

Tip 2:

Remove the weeds from your garden. They absorb most of the water and affects the plant growth. It also make the soil become dry. By removing weeds, soil remains moist and saves water.

Tip 3:

Put your finger in the soil for 1 inch. If the soil sticks to your finger, then do not add water. It will make the soil wet and results in the death of plants.

Tip 3:

Do not dump all the water into pot directly. Use equipment like water sprayer, watering can with controller, etc., for watering the plants.

Tip 4:

Water them at right time. Water them at early morning which saves water from evaporation. If you water the plants at afternoon, most the water evaporates and soil becomes dry.

Tip 5:

Use Rain water. Make a setup for collecting and harvesting rain water in your home. It will also increase the ground water. It reduces the water problems.

Tip 6:

Use clay pots. Clay pots absorbs the water and remain cool for more time.

Tip 7:

Add compost in your pot. Compost hold water equal to its weight for large time which keeps the soil moist.

Tip 8:

Avoid over watering. It leads to death of plants and also wastage of water.

Tip 9:

Reuse water. Reuse the kitchen waste water and fish tank water which contains more ammonia which helps in plant growth.

Tip 10:

Avoid solid fertilizer which require more water to be absorbed by the plants. Use liquid fertilizer.
