Here I have listed some of the common mistakes done while starting the Home garden. These are the mistakes happen at the beginning of home garden. Check this and avoid while you start your home garden.

1. Starting the garden in larger size:

It is not advisable to start with more number of plants at the beginning. Start with smaller count from 5-10. Check that If you have enough time to take care of plants, then increase the numbers in a progressive manner like 15, 20,25 and so on…

2. Investing more money on items which are not required:

For example, if you are going to start your home garden, shade net is not necessary. You can reuse the container in your home. No need of new large pots.

3. Keeping the pots in wrong place:

Plants need adequate sunlight to grow. Keeping them in the tree shade or under the cooling sheet may block the much needed sunlight for plants which reduces the growth of plants. For vegetable plants it requires atleast 6-7 hours of sunlight.

4. Leaving the pot unfilled:

Pot should be filled with the soil and the plants should not be buried too deep. It will affects the growth of the plants. Sometimes plants die inside the soil itself due to wet condition.

5. Just planting in manure:

Some plant the plants directly in manure thinking of giving high nutrients. Equal amount of soil should be mixed with manure and then the plant should be planted. If planted without soil, then the plant will also become manure.

6. Overcrowding the pots:

Plants require space for the growth. Planting more plants in the same pot leads to malnutrition and improper exposure of sunlight which stops or slows down the plant growth.

7. Adding more fertilizer:

In order to increase the plant growth, you should not add more fertilizer to the soil. It will make the plants to grow high but flowers will not be produced.

8. Comparing with others:

We should compare our plants with others. All plants have different characters. They cannot be grown in same shape and size.

9. Watering too high or too low:

You should not let the soil to go dry or pour more water and make the wet. Both causes death to plants.

10. Using same remedies for all problems:

Using same remedies and pesticides for all pest attack or growing plants in all seasons. Either plant remains not grown or dies because of pest.
